Feng Shui
Feng Shui is the art of ‘harnessing’ Earth luck and, by understanding the effects of CHI / QI, we can reduce the negative and improve the positive aspects of our lives. Feng Shui means ‘Wind – Water’ and traditionally symbolizes the space between heaven and earth – the environment where we live. The underlying philosophy recognizes that humans and their environment are sustained by an invisible, yet tangible energy called ‘Chi’. This may move like wind to activate opportunities but, when frustrated by obstacles, it can eddy like water to become trapped and stagnant.
Feng Shui, therefore, is about aligning yourself to the right energy or Chi and maximizing the potential in the environment in which you live. Often Feng Shui calls for merely taking the right actions and making the right decisions in a given time frame. After all, Feng Shui is all about time and its cycles.
Feng Shui principles may be applied geographically or more superficially to placement, design and decoration. Recommendations to achieve harmony come from light, sound, life, movement, stability, electricity, symbolism, and colour; each and all, as required, are appropriate. Every aspect of home, life, career, and relationships is open to enhancement to facilitate the holistic development of the individual, their family or business by enhancing the immediate environment.
As with most things, it is the intention that we hold that determines the result and, with some insight into our surroundings, we can hope for the best possible outcome. It is necessary, therefore, to demystify Feng Shui and Chinese Astrology and to take steps to understand all that it is and draw from it the energy available to us all, wherever we may live and whatever religion we may choose to follow.
