Pilates at Shakti Healing Circle is a gentle and flowing movement program that lengthens and strengthens the body, utilising a breathing pattern to engage the deep abdominal muscles. The exercises are performed smoothly, evenly, and with control, and help to improve posture, enhance balance, reduce aches and general stiffness, and provide increased flexibility for a longer, more toned body.
The focus on the breath improves cardiovascular function and circulation, as well as bringing about a greater sense of relaxation. Pilates practice ultimately seeks to improve everyday movement quality.
Both Matwork Pilates and Private Pilates commence with a warm-up, progress with a variety of strength and movement exercises, and completed with a cool-down phase. The moves may involve standing, sitting and laying positions, with opportunities to progress and regress moves as required. Many of the Pilates moves can often be integrated into life at home or work.
Each Private Pilates session is designed specifically for the client. From the planning of the session, to the attention throughout, Private Pilates caters to individual needs ... which sometimes may not be addressed easily in a group environment. Each Private Pilates client has the benefit of reviewing their program to assist with their practice in their own time.
Pilates practice seeks "quality of movement over quantity of movement" ... so it is important to listen to, and pay attention to your body, and work within your personal ability level for the best results.

Heidi Brady
Heidi is a Pilates Instructor originating from Australia. She has been involved in the fitness industry for over two decades in a variety of roles that include coordinator, teacher, presenter and mentor. Heidi is passionate about the way in which Pilates combines breath with controlled movement, enhancing physical and mental balance, whilst achieving flexibility, strength, and a sense of relaxation. Heidi incorporates Pilates philosophy across all movement programs, as she believes it provides a more holistic approach to exercise. Heidi is also a registered Group Exercise Instructor and Personal Trainer, with additional personal interests in Buteyko and Nutritional and Environmental wellness.
