Himalayan Salt Crystal Lamps

Himalayan salt crystal lamps are made from salt crystal rocks formed in inland seabeds hundreds of millions of years ago in the foothills of the Himalayas. The Himalayas are among the world’s most serene and tranquil areas and, not surprisingly, produce the purest salt crystals.

Salt crystal emits negative ions naturally through the continuous interplay of water attraction and evaporation and salt crystal lamps enhance the ionisation effect by heating the salt crystals with a low wattage bulb inside the lamp. The negative ions emitted then neutralise the unhealthy positive ions emitted by electrical equipment, for example from computers, televisions, dryers, vacuum cleaners, electric heaters and microwave ovens. Tobacco smoke also produces harmful positive ions. Scientific tests have shown that the ratio of negative to positive ions should be between 1.02 and 0.98.
