Pervin Clasper Takes Reiki to the Next Level

The Japanese technique Reiki (rei and ki meaning universal life energy) is not only about relaxation and stress reduction, but it also promotes great healing, letting people experience a sense of peace, security and well-being. The laying on of hands is based on the idea that life force energy flows through the practitioner and into the client’s body or auric field to address and heal certain issues. It treats the whole person, restoring the balance between mind, body and spirit. People go to see Reiki practitioners for various ailments, ranging from stress to headache or even cancer. “Physical, mental, emotional… anything,” says Pervin Clasper, founder of the Shakti Healing Circle, who is also a Master Teacher in Traditional Usui Reiki. “Most of the time it starts in the emotional. You won’t get anything in the physical unless it’s an emotional issue.”

Clasper, who’s strength is to easily tune into her clients can quickly pick up information and access a person’s energy that surrounds them. She not only channels energy through the crown and through the hands, instead she takes it a step further and reads one’s energy, which enables her to see where the issue lies. Therefore, she knows exactly what to do about it. Often she would attract clients whose friends and family members have passed on, but have difficulties letting go. She helps them through it, assisting them to reach a place where they can deal with it and release the person or the problem.

Clasper learnt Reiki back in 1997, and with her experience of more than 10 years, she has created her own way of healing, which she calls the Shaktipath. “What is happening in the healing sessions isn’t just the giving of Reiki energy. I’m also tapping into the person’s information. Are they disturbed, is there something that’s bothering them emotionally or maybe something physically they don’t even know about, something that they need to address? Once having tapped into that I will know what it is, and maybe Reiki energy itself isn’t the answer. Maybe the person needs some EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), tapping on the meridians, it might be NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programming) and coaching, helping them to think differently. The end object for the person who leaves is to feel whole. They also get homework; starting to think positive, reframing how they think, very guided and personal affirmations. Words mean different things to different people. The standard affirmations don’t really work. It’s not just the word, it’s also the emotion and the vibration the person is going to feel when they’re saying it.” She takes people from a mentality of victimhood to having control by changing the way they think, embracing self-empowerment and becoming the co-creator of their lives.

She has studied numerous techniques, such as Pranic and Magnified Healing to name a few, but she would never say that one is better than the other. “Each person will respond differently to different modalities and different practitioners,” she claims. “Each has its own place in healing. All energy healing techniques are using the same vibration from a higher source.” Clasper tends to come back to Reiki simply because of its simplicity and because it’s easy to use as a base for her healings. Clasper also regularly teaches the technique, which can be picked up by anyone. Its use doesn’t depend on one’s intellectual capability or spiritual development and is therefore accessible to everyone. After all it has been taught to thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds.

Reiki can also achieve great results over long distances, which seems to be quite popular for clients who live abroad. “It’s very common,” says Clasper. “I don’t do it over the phone, but I just do it with a photograph. So it would be like a normal healing session.” For Clasper’s long distance healings the use of symbols also comes into play. There are three signs, and each one can be used for various things. She is very clear about which symbol she chooses during a session though. “The first one is more for power, I use it if I want to generate more power into the healing. Then the second one I apply as a mental symbol that helps to release all the blockages. And the third one I use for distance. It’s called the bridge. It bridges between two people.”

Furthermore, she also cleanses the room before and after the treatment to clear it from any energy imprints, as each client can leave behind energy residue from a session. Clasper’s path as a healer hasn’t always been this simple and free-flowing, instead it is a journey that she has embarked on. “Previously it was more physical for me,” she claims. “If you came with an illness or something physical, I would immediately feel it. And I had to work on myself after the client left. That meant fewer appointments, as the next one would come in, when I only just had finished with the previous one. This was years ago when I started, now I don’t take it on anymore. I can still feel it, but I let go of it.

Today, she runs the Shakti Healing Circle with her husband Stephen Clasper, and they reach out to and welcome a wide range of people. The centre is a healing sanctuary that is not only a great hub for transformation and healing but also a place that is run professionally, attracting many first-timers who are curious to learn more about alternative health.
