Reiki (Universal Life Energy)
This leading alternative healing therapy works on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels to balance all the chakras of the body. Reiki is energy in motion, constant, dynamic and powerful and its healing effects have been confirmed by extensive research over the past 10 years.
A number of hospitals in the US, including the New York / Presbysterian Hospital, now offer Reiki as part of their Integrative Medicine Program and cardiovascular surgeon, Dr. Mehmet Oz, has invited Reiki practitioners to treat patients during open heart and heart transplant operations. Blind, random studies showed Reiki lowering heart rate, respiration and blood pressure.
The Touchstone Process has reviewed a number of controlled studies that showed successful Reiki treatment for depression and stress, cognition in elderly patients and pain in chronically patients.
Reiki is hands-on healing in which your practitioner channels energy to where you need it most to replenish your energy levels by encouraging a stronger energy flow to help your body's natural healing ability.
This form of therapy is a unique and personal experience, and your healing may be subtle and slow or significant and immediate. Whatever your unique sensation, you will feel deep relaxation throughout as energy flows through you. Ultimately, Reiki is the Awakener and it will increase, improve and energise your self-awareness.
Reiki is also a useful form of preventive medicine and regular healings will maintain good health and well-being. It is particularly beneficial during pregnancy because it restores your energy and calm. Reiki is safe and suitable for people of any age, including young children.
Great healing results for clients have also been achieved with distant healing sessions. Reiki classes at all levels are held regularly (please check the What's On section for details).
